워싱턴주 한미여성회 2022년 1월 월례회

The first monthly meeting of the WA-KIMWA for the year was held on 8 Jan.
Due to the circumstances surrounding Omicron variant, cautious measures were taken to protect our 59 participants.
Everyone complimented the delicious and nutritious meal prepared by the Board members wholeheartedly.
The participants were excited and ready to serve at this year’s planned events shared by the new President.
There were a brief yoga exercises and line dances before and after the meeting.
All in all, the atmosphere was warm and positive, and the fellowship was wonderful.

조심스러운 상황속에서도 59명의 회원들이 참석한 금년도 첫 월례회는, 뜨거운 봉사정신과 함께 동료애의 특별한 관심과 사랑으로 뭉쳐진 단체의 모습을 확실히 느끼게하는 모임이라 볼수있다.
한해 동안 진행하려는 행사계획등 여러 안건들을 잘 처리하면서 또
기본 건강 관리의 간단한 실습과 즐거운 라인댄스까지 즐기고, 임원들의 정성이 가득 담긴 맛있고 영양 풍성한 식사 대접도 받고,….
단결과 봉사를 향한. 그리고 우리의 자질을 향상해 나갈 다짐의 모임이였다고 말할수있다.

Korean Thanksgiving – 추석 페스티벌

One of the festivities throughout the year, Korean Thanksgiving, to promote Korea to the local community was held at the Asia Pacific Cultural Center (APCC) on 25 Sep. Some members of the WA state Korean Inter-Married Women’s Association, aka WA-KIMWA, volunteered their services for this meaningful and successful event.
There were many varieties of activities to include Korean traditional dances, the ritual to pay respect to the deceased, Korean costume try-outs, calligraphy to write English name to Korean, and of course, some special foods for the occasion. We appreciate the organization of APCC for sponsoring this event.
미 주류사회에 한국문화를 알리는 년중 행사중, 조상에게 감사하며 자손들에게 복을 전하는 우리의 아름다운 풍습을 소개하는 ‘추석 페스티벌’ 이 아태센터 주최로 열려습니다. 한미여성회도 적극 참여하여 우리의 아름다운 고유의 문화를 알리는데 힘을 모았습니다. 이 행사를 위해 주류사회 많은 인사들도 참여하였고, 송편를 위시한 몇가지 한국음식, 고전무용, 조상에게 감사하는 겸손의모습을 선보이는 제사, 그리고 외국인들이 직접 한복을 입어보기, 자기의 미국이름을 한글이름으로 쓴 붓글씨 등등을 즐겁게 경험해 보는 날이였습니다. 한국의 아름답고 훌륭한 모든것이 전 세계에 즐겁게 전파되길 기원하며, 아태센터의 모든 노력과 수고에 대해 감사드립니다.
